Frankenstein is a 1931 horror monster film from Universal Pictures . The film stars Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, John Boles and Boris Karloff.

Frankenstein received recognition from the American Film Institute. It was named the 87th greatest movie of all time on 100 Years... 100 Movies.  The line "It's alive! It's alive!" was ranked as the 49th greatest movie quote in American cinema.
