Kate Elizabeth Winslet, CBE (CBE: Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) (born 5 October 1975), is an English actress and singer. She was the youngest person to accrue six Academy Award nominations, and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Reader (2008).

She has been included as a vocalist on some soundtracks of works she has performed in, and the single "What If" from the soundtrack for Christmas Carol: The Movie (2001) was a hit single in several European countries. Winslet has a mezzo-soprano singing voice.

Finding Neverland is a 2004 semi-biographical film about playwright J. M. Barrie and his relationship with a family who inspired him to create Peter Pan. The screenplay is based on the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee.

The film was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Depp's portrayal of J. M. Barrie, and won one for Jan A. P. Kaczmarek's musical score.
