The Fast and the Furious is a 2001 American action film directed by Rob Cohen.  The film is the first installment of The Fast and the Furious series.

The film follows an undercover cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) who must stop semi-truck hijackers led by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) from stealing expensive electronic equipment.
